Good Friday

What makes the day that Jesus died on a cross good?  The pain and separation that Jesus went thru on the cross can hardly be described as good. After all, the word crucifixion is where we get our English word excruciating. The cross is where the wrath of God and the love of God intersect. God’s wrath was poured out on Jesus.

Jesus lived the life we couldn’t live and died the death we should have died. He paid for our sins. He died our death and God’s love is extended to us at the cross.

So a perfect man lived a perfect life and died a death we should have died. You see the goodness of Good Friday is only realized because of what happened 3 days later.  Jesus’ physical resurrection allows us to experience spiritual resurrection. We were dead in our sins (Ephesians 2) but made spiritually alive because of Christ. Paul goes on to say in 1 Corinthians 15:14, “if Christ has not been raised from the dead, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.”

In light of what Jesus has done for us, we recognize that God took the worst day in human history and used it for our good and His glory.

Join us for our Good Friday service // Friday March 30th @ 6:30pm // it will be a night of worship, prayer, and communion as we remember our deliverance and celebrate our inheritance in Jesus.
