GARY AND MARTY CRAWFORD
CCAM
The end of 2017 brought travel for Gary and Marty. Gary made a trip to St. Thomas after two hurricanes had ravaged the island. His trip resulted in funds to rebuild a pastor’s home and help some of ABWE’s local partners. Crawfords’ church in Florida hopes to be sending some construction teams to help with projects there this year. Then, an unscheduled trip to help the Nicaragua missionaries sort out some urgent matters. This week, they were in Orlando at ABWE’s annual Global Operations Summit involving leaders from all regions. Early February will see them in Jamaica helping prefield missionaries make a survey trip as well as checking in with missionaries, Caleb and Charity Gibbs. They say 2018 will be a heavy travel year and are asking us to pray with them as they schedule trips and activities. Pray for the funds they need for these trips.
DR HARRY AND JAN
Harry and Jan are headed for South Asia the first week of February. This will be Jan’s first trip in two years as recurrent and severe lung infections have grounded her. Thank God her present treatment is working well and is portable. They’ll be visiting in Bangladesh to help with critical issues involving the Rohingya refugees, many of whom end up in the ABWE hospital in Malumghat for treatment. They are praying for a missionary couple to take on the position of Regional Director for BD. Harry is presently acting as ED for South Asia and RD for Bangladesh. Harry and Jan will also participate in the Far East Leadership Training Seminar in Jakarta where ABWE’s Asia team leaders will meet for training. They ask us to pray “for the Holy Spirit to move as only he can to refresh, unify, inspire and lead us all”. Pray also for a January 31st Essential Mission Components redesign task force meeting in which Harry and Jan play a significant part. They teach and develop materials to train missionaries in church planting strategy.
KELLY AND SHERRI FATH
CEEMED
Faths were in Kosovo recently meeting with their missionary team and leading the fields’ quarterly business meeting. They invited a Pristina (capital city) pastor to provide insights on local church planting and were able to meet with another pastor to discuss a potential partnership in planting a church. They have highlighted the ministry in Ukraine in their last letter asking us to pray for new teammates “to continue investing in multiple ministries including the Church Ministries Institute and the Choose Life Ministry and Pregnancy Care Center”.

ROBERT AND ALEJANDRA CUPPS
AREQUIPA
Earlier this month, Cupps took their Against the Current youth groups to the base of the volcano overlooking the city of Arequipa. There, they challenged the young people, in a special Bible study, to share the gospel all over their city of a million of people, beginning with friends and family. Easter Sunday saw an overflow crowd at Omega Baptist church and the congregation had to use the adjacent AC Coffee house to accommodate all the worshippers. A new AC chapter opened in the northern city of Chiclayo as Jose Luis and his wife began services in their new church plant. Pray for the growth of AC youth groups in Arequipa and beyond as Cupps see them as the church of the future in Peru.
TWIN LAKES CAMP
HILLSBORO, IN
Summer camp registrations for this year’s season are running strong, Jon Beight, Director, writes. He says, “We ended the month of April with 30% more campers registered for summer camp than the same time last year. We are excited to see what God will do in the lives of campers and staff this summer.” Pray for an effective ministry, and safety and strength for staff and counselors. After attending the Small Town Pastor’s Conference, with over 500 pastors in attendance, Jon is anxious to spread the word about all Twin Lakes has to offer the small church families of Indiana and Illinois in education, fellowship and discipleship. Pray families will be eager to use the camp for spiritual growth and maturing.
SHEPHERDS MINISTRIES
UNION GROVE, WI
Shepherds, according to President, Bill Amstutz, “…is transforming, adapting, focusing and changing in order to advance the ministry mission–to see people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) reached for Christ.” Some of the Shepherds clients live in the community and work either at Shepherds or in jobs local businesses provide. Shepherds College trains and equips young adults with IDD so they may serve their communities by using the gifts God has given them.. The college’s three-year training program offers majors in Horticultural, including Aquaponics, and Catering. The goal of Shepherds programs is to focus on clients’ abilities, not disabilities, and to point them to Jesus.

ROBERT AND ALEJANDRA CUPPS
AREQUIPA
Rob and Ale write, “This year we added something…exciting to the youth program called “The Battle”:  Team Challenge and theme nights.  Our Bible studies will always be the primary focus of the youth services, but the Team Challenge has quickly become a popular highlight of the night as well.  We had 75 students out last week as attendance continues to grow and the students continue to come faithfully and become more involved.”  A new Bible study series beginning soon is “Jesus Came to Save”. ” It’s going to be a very important series for our youth as they grow in their faith and gain a deeper understanding of the doctrine of salvation so as to be able to lead others to Christ,” Rob says.  Pray for the young people growing in their faith walk as they study the Bible, and pray for the new Against the Current chapter beginning in a church plant in Chiclayo, Peru’s fourth largest city.
JARED AND ALYSSA RAKER
AREQUIPA
“Many unsettled hearts in (this region) are ready to be introduced to the Prince of Peace.” writes Jared. ” A retired man in our area of ministry is reading the Scriptures and embracing the Truth.  Two middle-aged women have heard the gospel and are also reading the Scriptures.  These women are also speaking openly with their children about their search for the truth.  Doors are opening in the expatriate community where we are located.”  As Easter approaches, Rakers and their fellow worshippers are praying it will be an opportunity to gather some of the known believers and searching individuals who have not been meeting for corporate worship.  Pray God will give them wisdom to work around an important referendum held the same day in their country.  Rakers are also co-ministering with a group in a town to the north of their home city where they are seeing God impact hearts.  Ask God to plant bodies of believers in both cities whose members will impact their families and communities.
KELLY AND SHERRI FATH
CEEMed
Kelly’s been able to focus attention on some of his Eastern European fields recently.  He’s met with the team in Bulgaria who are “growing” a church plant, Christian bookstore, women’s and children’s outreaches and a Bible study in a nearby town.  In Kosovo, the Kosovo Leadership Academy is getting much needed long-term teaching staff, and in the Czech Republic, missionaries are building a ministry through kids’ clubs and English language clubs.  He was also able to meet with a Prague teammate who works with an anti-trafficking ministry.  The Romania team will shortly be meeting in retreat with Kelly leading.  And, he and Sherri will shortly meet in Berlin with Regional Directors from Western Europe and the Middle East/North Africa to share ministry needs and successes.  Pray for the teammates Faths work with in each of their Eastern European/Mediterranean fields, asking God to keep them faithful to and eager for their ministries.

C2C
MOUNT STEWART, JAMAICA
The C2C team, headed by Doug Whicker, held a planning meeting last week to consider ongoing cooperation and programs. This strategic partnership began in 2011 with the Mt. Stewart Baptist Church and community in Jamaica being the focus of many WBC programs and mission trips. Ben Crawford, Kyle Fox and Evan Johnson spent time working with Pastor Dwayne and the believers at Mt. Stewart. VBS and  discipleship courses have been held, community home improvement projects completed, and a micro-loan program instituted. Plans are now underway to plan more focused discipleship training with Mt. Stewart while looking further afield at similar partnerships in other countries.  Pray for a close and productive partnership between our two congregations resulting in spiritual growth in both. Pray also about the violence in the Mt. Stewart community and Pastor Dwayne and Arlene as they cope with the aftermath.
KELLI AND SHERRI FATH
CEEMed
Kelly and Sherri are in Bulgaria this week where a new ABWE team is church planting, encouraging the missionaries and preaching for the nucleus of their church plant.  From there, Kelly will visit Kosovo to meet with teammates, lead their quarterly leadership meeting, and survey the Kosovo Leadership Academy Phase 2 construction project.  Kelly asks us to pray for more teachers for the academy and an additional $1M for this ministry of offering Christian education for local children and young people.  He is also helping the Regional Directors of Western Europe and the Middle East/North Africa teams organize a joint leadership conference for mid-April.  Faths are looking forward to the birth of their son in mid to late May.  Ask God to keep Sherri healthy.
RICH AND CATHERINE RICH
SAKU CITY, JAPAN
Richs are continuing to pursue their goal of making the joy of the Lord their strength in 2017, for themselves and their congregation, Faith Baptist.  They celebrated Valentine’s Day by emphasizing God’s great love and at Easter they plan to share God’s great victory.  In early May, they’ll host an early morning breakfast for congregation and unsaved friends and family to view Saku City’s Hot Air Balloon Festival from their back yard.  Though it’s a social time, Richs use the opportunity to share the good news.  Pray for the friends, neighbors and hospital staff Richs are “pursuing” with the message of God’s love.  Pray for their weekly evangelistic outreaches distributing Gospels of John and invitations to church services and special events.
